Details:
Hamburg would be absolutely inconceivable without its port and its traditions, both of which have evolved over the course of many centuries. One old landmark, and a symbol for international trade relations, is the Warehouse Complex, which today, as ever, is still closely associated with the Hanseatic city’s coffee trade. Right next to it, in HafenCity, one of Europe’s most innovative urban developments, many new buildings are going up, such as the "Coffee Plaza", hub of the coffee industry and a meeting place for importers, roasters, brokers and agents.

The new building radiates all the qualities of the world-famous, multi-award-winning New York architect Richard Meier who developed the office complex and who, in the "Coffee Plaza", has created a new architectural work of art. Entirely cosmopolitan in style, with masses of glass and the dominant colour white, the architect’s construction artistry is revealed here. His ideal of transparency and clarity, ease and flexibility is reflected in this building and it goes almost without saying that for those who work within its walls it is a place where crucial marketing decisions are taken and where concentration abounds along with extraordinary creativity.
True to his creed, Richard Meier has designed the "Coffee Plaza" to further develop his line of buildings, and like the large number of his earlier prize-winning museums, university and government buildings, company headquarters and commercial centres, it is entirely unique.

One eye-catching feature is the facade of the "Coffee Plaza", designed and constructed from aluminium with corrugated wellTEC SR-15/22 in a 100.3 mm grid manufactured by MN Metallverarbeitung Neustadt GmbH. Interestingly, the wellTEC profiles dovetail seamlessly into the building’s striking architecture. In this sense, they are in keeping with the architect’s ideas, making the "Coffee Plaza" yet another building created by a famous architect to which MN can refer that makes excellent use of its tailor-made aluminium facade profiles.
