Details:
The vocational school Eduard-Stieler-Schule in Fulda is one of the largest schools in the district and was built back in 1974. In 2018, the building was now to undergo an energy renovation of the roof and facade. The architects from Sturm und Wartzeck made this their project.
The building consists of various adjoining structures, which have now been wrapped in a new garment. The existing façade elements were given a ventilated metal façade in the wellTEC® profile SW-45/60-45/150, with each volume of the structure being assigned its own color and nuanced from white/yellow, through white/blue and white/green to white/red.
"The plaster facade was heavily weathered. Our goal was to apply a durable and robust exterior facade to the school," emphasizes Markus Reichel. "That's why we opted for a very special metal façade, which is a real eye-catcher on the one hand and requires no further maintenance on the other, as it is absolutely low-maintenance."
