The Fächerbad Karlsruhe GmbH has expanded, rebuilt and renovated its sports and family pool from the 80s with a total area of approx. 9,000 m² in 2 construction phases during ongoing operations. In the first phase of construction, the Fächerbad was extended to include a convertible pool whose roof can be opened in next to no time in fine weather. The 2nd construction phase included the renovation of the changing rooms, new extended gastronomy and the extension of the existing building for an extended administration area. The design for the extension and conversion by rossmann+partner Architekten is intended to express the appreciation of the characteristic building style from the 1980s. The special facade profile used for Fächerbad is a combination of the MN metal wellTEC® profiles W-45/60 and W-45/150. Coated in Onyx White Blue, it gives the bath an exclusive outer skin, which appears in two shades depending on the viewing angle and reminds of reflective, moving waves.
